“Reflections” was the perfect name for a massive outdoor project that incorporated plenty of water features, miles of glass tile, signature contemporary lighting, and custom elements that reflect not only the surroundings, but the vibe requested by the client. Over 5, 300 square feet of outdoor living space was enclosed under an arching and engineered enclosure. This outdoor retreat required extraordinary features to continue the “over-the-top” theme. The Ryan Hughes Design team incorporated into its plan a sunken fire pit that was designed to appear as floating within the 1,720-square-foot pool. Custom designed modern outdoor rooms, each crafted to make distinct statements, bordered the glistening pool. A Koi pond patio, a state-of-the-art equipped outdoor kitchen, an illuminated, pergola-capped sofa lounge area and an amazing water wall with a glass-tile work of custom art were positioned within the over 5,300-ssquare-feet of outdoor living area.
In the design of the spa, Black Mexican pebbles were used to border the similarly colored tile perimeter. The overflow feature was designed all of black glass to provide a dramatic mood to the multi-level spa. A crystal lighting fixture highlights the pergola-surrounded lounge area and provides illumination into the adjacent spa. modern deep seating with oversized lounge chairs, plush cushions, a modern coffee table and outdoor rug complete the outdoor room.
In Reflections, the custom plan brought together every element in the creation of the desired vibe. With the addition of walls and falls, the team looked to the element of moving water to create the calming, yet contemporary, vibe.
