For the position of Exterior Designer | Luxury Space Planner, we want an ambitious, relationship-oriented individual who presents themselves well, and can make connections with the type of elite clients that we serve. The primary focus of this role is to provide exemplary design services for our award-winning projects through professional communication and influence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide innovative furniture designs for Outdoor Living projects consistent with the Ryan Hughes Design principles
  • Assist Project Designer with Client Interview, Site Analysis and Due Diligence activities
  • Assist Project Designer with the presentation and sale of Conceptual Furniture Design to Client
  • Preform quantity and material takeoffs for use by Estimating to prepare a Design-Build proposal
  • Revise Conceptual Design and propose Value Engineering alternatives to original design as required by Client feedback
  • Follow through on leads regarding furniture sales requests
  • Procure and organize samples for the Material Selection Meeting
  • Provide additional design as necessary to propose additional scope items to Client
  • Participate in project reveal planning, preparation and execution for the successful project completion

QUALIFICATIONS:
A) Language/Communication Skills

  • Must possess excellent communication skills including oral, written and listening. These skills may be used when presenting design concepts to Clients or communicating internally with RHD Team Members.
B) Knowledge and skills required

  • Ability to create a conceptual design within researched spatial constraints
  • Reasoning skills must be well developed to objectively assist with issues and to present results accurately, effectively and in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate continuous performance improvement in targeted areas of responsibility in alignment with the overall company strategy
C) Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Marketing/Sales, or Interior Design
D) Required Experience:

  • One to three years of sales/design experience with high-end residential or commercial projects, preferably including furniture sales
E) Working Environment:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize numerous tasks
  • Computer usage is required for this position
  • Travel to job sites or other relevant events
