Inspired by a desire to provide outdoor experiences for family and guests of all ages, Bluff View’s traditional style and modern multi-generational vibe blend effortlessly. From an aerial view or from within, this complex outdoor living design presents a richness of curving lines and circular-inspired elements expertly placed surrounding the 1,200-square-foot pool.
A private relaxation grotto of natural stone features a water slide that is a favorite of the grandchildren and parents alike. A cooling sun shelf with loungers within the pool is popular with the homeowner. Each feature exemplifies the mixing of texture, style and enjoyment that is found throughout Bluff View.
Natural brick and stone were used in the crafting of the grotto and slide feature and in additional elements around the pool. This mixing of materials was purposefully selected to mirror those adorning the exterior of the traditional home. From the large rock-adorned structure, a waterfall has been engineered to spill into the pool and provide refreshing spaces and quiet enclaves.
It is the collection of curves and rounded edges within the pool design that perfectly punctuates the vanishing edge mystique of this waterfront home’s outdoor spaces. The Ryan Hughes Design team utilizes a line-of-sight concept to draw the eye from the interiors of the home to the edge of Florida’s intracoastal waterway with ease. Multiple seating areas in and around the pool are found along the line -- each capturing an amazing water to water view.
A radius fire lounge with custom cushioned seating and a glass-tiled circular spa both appear to be rising from within the pool and drawing attention to the pool’s deep vanishing edges. Shimmering beveled glass tile delivers a more reflective and sparkling spill-over profile. Stepping pavers allow for a decorative entrance to the sunken fire lounge as well as to capture a close-up view of the shimmering waters cascading into adjacent circular openings. In-pool and landscape lighting add additional sparkle to the overall project.
A swim-up bar is incorporated within the pool allowing guests to fully enjoy the custom-designed outdoor kitchen. The curving sun shelf features loungers positioned perfectly for capturing the fun of the pool slide, the conversations in the spa or the beauty of the Tampa-area sun sets.
