Elevated Horizons

Descriptions

A coastal retreat inspired by the effortless elegance of Alys Beach, designed for relaxation with the Gulf as its backdrop, describes the Elevated Horizons project by award winning outdoor living designer, Ryan Hughes Design. Spanning 6,100 square feet of outdoor living space across a 14,600-square-foot Tampa waterfront estate, Elevated Horizons lives up to its name, layering terraces, balconies, and a rooftop lounge that carry the outdoor experience skyward while keeping the water in view from every level.

At the center of the design is a 1,380-square-foot lautner edge pool finished entirely in glass tile by Mosaicist, part of more than 2,500 square feet of tile work woven throughout the project. The pool’s crisp knife-edge perimeter appears to hover above the turf as a sunken conversation lounge with a linear fire burner sits directly within the water, wrapped by an acrylic window that lets the pool flow around gathered guests. A perimeter overflow spa with custom jet placement features a glass tile gradient that shifts from white to blue, while a planted palm island, in-pool loungers by Ledge Lounger, and water feature walls within the lanai complete the aquatic plan.

The vertical program is what sets Elevated Horizons apart. A second-floor outdoor kitchen anchored by Fire Magic serves covered terraces on multiple levels, and a rooftop deck crowned with a sunken fire pit lounge delivers panoramic views across the water. Below, a waterfront fire table terrace, a putting green, and Tuuci-shaded lounging areas offer quiet corners for every hour of the day. Ryan Hughes Design’s scope extended to the full estate, including the driveway and surrounding landscape plan, unifying the arrival experience with the outdoor living spaces beyond.

As day turns into night, Elevated Horizons takes on a serene glow through outdoor illumination by PAL Lighting and FX Lighting, with pool lighting, up lights, and landscape accents highlighting the palms and architecture while providing a safe and inviting space to entertain. Designer surfaces flow from pavers on the pool deck to manicured turf and wood decking at the water’s edge, completing a tranquil, expansive plan built to celebrate the horizon it was named for.
