The homeowners came to us with a simple directive: create something out of the ordinary. Set on a 78,800 square foot Winter Park estate, this project delivers on that request with a design built around a single, gravity-defying centerpiece, a floating faucet that appears to pour endlessly into the pool below with no visible support. The illusion is achieved through an acrylic tube fabricated by Aquatic Glazing, engineered by Dave Peterson to pull water up through the inside of the tube and release it in a continuous fall down the outside. The spigot itself was crafted by Nassal, with fountain systems by Crystal Fountains and a Speck pump driving the effect.
The 2,800 square foot outdoor pool wraps the property in organic, flowing curves that echo the architecture of the home, finished in 1×1 glass tile and anchored by a vanishing edge that dissolves the waterline into the landscape beyond. A sunken fire pit creates a gathering point within the water itself, while pre-cast concrete stepping pads carry guests across the surface. The all glass tile spa features custom jet placement and a small overflow detail for a quiet, continuous sound of moving water.
Inside, a 1,400 square foot indoor pool extends the resort experience year round, lined in 2,085 square feet of Mosaicist 12×24 porcelain tile and framed by a colonnade that reflects across the still water. The design incorporates the homeowners’ sculpture collection throughout, treating each piece as a focal point within the 10,000 square foot outdoor living area rather than an afterthought.
