Descriptions

A transitional outdoor living space that balances refined Southern character with wide-open views to the natural surroundings. That’s the story behind the TBD project by award-winning outdoor living designer Ryan Hughes Design. Spanning 3,260 square feet of thoughtfully arranged outdoor living, this East Lake residence proves that a compact footprint and high impact are not mutually exclusive.

Every decision in this design was made with the landscape in mind. Vertical elements were kept intentionally minimal throughout, preserving unobstructed sightlines to the property’s natural backdrop. The result is a space that feels expansive and connected to its environment rather than closed in on itself.

At the heart of the design sits a 660-square-foot pool finished in Pebble Tech, with the spa and sun shelf clad entirely in Vidrepure glass tile for a shimmering contrast. The spa features a perimeter overflow edge, custom jet placement, and all-glass tile construction. Underwater and landscape illumination is handled by PAL Lighting in the pool and FX Lighting throughout the hardscape and surrounding grounds, giving the space a completely different character after dark.

Surfaces across the outdoor living areas layer turf, marble pavers, and porcelain wood, each material placed to define zones without hard borders. Fire features by Grand Effects anchor the space with warmth and drama. Shade comes by way of Tuuci, while furnishings from Couture Jardin, including deep seating and chaise lounges, and in-pool options from Ledge Lounger, round out a space designed for long days and easy entertaining.
